Today, Thursday September 20, 2012, investigators from the Portland Police Bureau's Traffic Investigations Unit arrested 37-year-old Juan Pacual Ixperta Siquina for Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver (Felony) in connection with the hit and run crash that injured 21-year-old Teairra Benjamin of North Portland. Ixperta Siquina was arrested at his residence in the 8600 block of North Columbia Boulevard. The victim remains in a Portland hospital in good condition recovering her injuries. Ixperta Siquina was booked into the Multnomah County Jail and will be arraigned on Friday. ###PPB### ###ORIGINAL MESSAGE BELOW### On Monday September 17, 2012, at 11:09 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct responded to the intersection of North Columbia Boulevard and Bank Street on the report of a hit and run to a pedestrian. 11/26/2012 UPDATE: Portland Police Investigating a Sexual Assault in Downtown Portland

The Portland Police Bureau is continuing to investigate this morning's sexual assault in Downtown Portland. The victim, a 27-year-old female Portland State University student, was treated and released from a Portland hospital. Detectives have learned little new information at this point but do have some additional descriptors of the suspect. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-30s, shaggy light brown hair, pronounced cheekbones, and an unshaven face. Detectives are asking for the public's help in locating the suspect. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Detective Jason Christensen at (5053) 823-0894. The Portland Police Bureau would like to remind community members that stranger-to-stranger sexual assaults fortunately are a rare occurrence.
