07/19/2012 Portland Police Arrest Two Men for Woodstock Neighborhood Armed Robbery

Today, July 19, 2012, Portland Police Bureau Robbery detectives arrested two men in connection with an armed robbery that occurred last week in the Woodstock neighborhood. The Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) served a search warrant this morning at a residence in the 2400 block of Southeast 87th Avenue and arrested 20-year-old Dillon Mitchell Sparks. A second suspect, 20-year-old Nicholas Emilio Lunetta, was arrested at a residence in Oregon City. Both suspects have been charged with one count of Robbery in the First Degree and booked into the Multnomah County Jail. The investigation started on Thursday July 12, 2012, at 2:27 a.m., when Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to the report of an armed robbery at the Plaid Pantry, located at 4214 Southeast Woodstock Boulevard. Officers arrived and contacted the clerk who told police that four men entered the store, one armed with a handgun, and robbed the store of a large quantity of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the store. Portland Police Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of Wednesday night's homicide at 99th and Southeast Stark Street. The Oregon State Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy this morning on 31-year-old Robert Edward Ford Jr., a resident of Southeast Portland. Witnesses at the shooting scene told police that a silver vehicle, possibly a Lexus, was involved in the shooting and that it was last seen headed eastbound on Stark from the parking lot of the Mystic Gentlemen's Club. A Gresham Police Department officer stopped a similar vehicle occupied by four people at 192nd and East Burnside Street.*-..
