09/26/2012 Suspect in Irvington Neighborhood Vandalism Sought by Portland Police

On Wednesday September 26, 2012, at 1:08 a.m., Portland Police officers responded to the report of a person spraying water onto new cars at Vic Alfonso Cadillac-Hummer, located at 633 Northeast 12th Avenue. Officers arrived and learned that the liquid sprayed on the vehicles was actually some kind of corrosive agent and that it had substantially damaged the paint on five new Cadillac's in the rear parking lot of the dealership. The 9-1-1 caller reported seeing the suspect walking northbound on 11th Avenue spraying some kind of liquid on the vehicles.*-..

09/25/2012 9-1-1 Call Leads to Arrest of Two Thieves Stealing Metal in Portland's Northwest Industrial Area

On Tuesday September 25, 2012, at 2:25 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to the Nudelman and Son, located at 2707 Northwest Nela Street, on the report of two men stealing metal conduit. As officers were enroute, additional information was received that the suspects left in a pick-up truck headed northbound on I-405. Officers arrived and talked to the 9-1-1 caller who told police that he was working at a neighboring business when he and another man saw the two suspects stealing metal from Nudelman and Son Recycling. Another officer spotted the suspect vehicle on I-5 North and stopped it at Exit 304. 38-year-old Christopher Joseph Sullivan and 39-year-old Joey Lynn Helsley, both of Longview, Washington, were arrested.*-..

On Sunday September 23, 2012, Portland Police officers arrested 54-year-old Leslie Jerome Lewis on charges of Kidnapping in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, Criminal Mistreatment in the First Degree, Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct, and Interfering with Making a Police Report. Lewis was booked into the Multnomah County Jail. At 5:41 p.m. Sunday evening, Portland Police responded to an apartment at 610 Northwest Davis Street for a welfare check after a caller reported that a subject in the building had a 14 or 15 year old boy in his room and would not let him out.*-..

Today, Thursday September 20, 2012, investigators from the Portland Police Bureau's Traffic Investigations Unit arrested 37-year-old Juan Pacual Ixperta Siquina for Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver (Felony) in connection with the hit and run crash that injured 21-year-old Teairra Benjamin of North Portland. Ixperta Siquina was arrested at his residence in the 8600 block of North Columbia Boulevard. The victim remains in a Portland hospital in good condition recovering her injuries. 09/20/2012 Portland Police Respond to Suicidal Man Who Jumped into the Willamette River

On Wednesday September 19, 2012, at 11:25 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to the report of a man trying to kill himself at the RiverPlace Marina, located at 0315 Southwest Montgomery Street. As officers were enroute, additional information was received that the man took some pills and jumped into the Willamette River from the dock at RiverPlace. Boats from both the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office and Portland Fire & Rescue were dispatched to assist in the call. Officers arrived and saw that a Good Samaritan and his dog were in a row boat and were attempting to rescue the man, who resisted and swam away. The Sheriff's Office boat arrived and deputies attempted to grab the man but he dove under the Sheriff's Office boat.*-..

09/18/2012 Portland Police Investigating Three Pedestrian Robberies Sunday Night

In the late evening hours of Sunday September 16 and early hours of Monday September 17, 2012, Portland Police officers responded to three separate pedestrian robberies that may be connected. At 10:24 p.m. Sunday night, officers assigned to North Precinct responded to the report of an armed robbery of a pedestrian at Northeast 36th Avenue and Grant Place in the Grant Park neighborhood. Officers arrived and spoke to the victim who told police that he was riding his skateboard to work at the 33rd Avenue QFC grocery store when he was approached by three African American male teens, one of who was armed with a handgun. The victim told police that he started to run away but one of the suspects grabbed his backpack and the three suspects fled the area. Officers checked the neighborhood and located some of the victim's property at Northeast 37th Avenue and Knott Street. At 11:30 p.m., officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to the report of an armed robbery of a pedestrian at Southeast 20th Avenue and Oak Street in the East Buckman neighborhood. Officers arrived and spoke to the victim who told police that she was walking home when she was confronted by an African American male who demanded she give him her property.*-..
