During the first week of October, the Portland Police Bureau's Central Precinct Street Crimes Unit,(SCU),Central's Neighborhood Response Team,(NRT),and investigators from the Drugs and Vice Division, conducted a four-day drug mission called "Rocktober". The officers utilized informants to purchase drugs in Old Town, Waterfront Park, and the East Bank Esplanade. October is domestic violence month and each year in October, Oregon, along with other states around the nation make a concerted effort to look for and arrest perpetrators of domestic violence that have eluded police. The Portland Police Bureau's Domestic Violence Unit, (DVRU), in coordination with the Multnomah County Community Justice Department (Parole and Probation), the Multnomah County Sheriffs Office Warrant Team, and community advocates are all working together today to concentrate on arresting domestic violence offenders with active warrants.
