09/09/2014 Tactical Operations Division Welcomes New Captain and Lieutenant (Photo)

Captain David Hendrie, a 20-year-veteran, has been appointed to lead the Portland Police Bureau's Tactical Operations Division (TOD). Captain Hendrie last served as the Captain of East Precinct.

As Captain of TOD, Captain Hendrie oversees the Gang Enforcement Team (GET), the Gun Task Force (GTF), the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), the Metropolitan Explosives Disposal Unit (MEDU), and the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT).

Captain Hendrie spent seven years as a member of the Gang Enforcement Team as both an officer and a Lieutenant, and is experienced in gang investigations as well as efforts to work with the community to reduce gang violence.

Joining Captain Hendrie at TOD is Lieutenant Michael Krantz, a 20-year-veteran of the Police Bureau.*-..
