Last evening, Tuesday March 11, 2014, North Precinct officers took a report regarding a sexual assault which occurred at the east end of the Steele Bridge at 3:00 a.m. that morning.

03/14/2014 CORRECTION - UPDATE #2 ARREST: Two pedestrians struck by vehicle which left scene

The 71-year-old victim is named Mary Brooks, not Brock as previously released.

The Police Bureau regrets the error.



Today, Portland Police Traffic Division Officers arrested 54-year-old Nonie Ann Enyeart in connection with Wednesday afternoon's hit and run to two pedestrians at Southeast 80th Avenue and Powell Boulevard.

Enyeart's silver Dodge Caravan was located and seized at Southeast 88th Avenue and Cora Street after a tip from the community.

71-year-old Mary Brooks and 76-year-old Juanita Miller are continuing to recover from their injuries.

Enyeart will be booked into the Multnomah County Jail on two counts of Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver (Hit and Run) and Reckless Driving.*-..

03/14/2014 CORRECTION - East Precinct Investigating Apparent Suicide in Southeast Portland's Brentwood-Darlington Neighborhood

This incident occurred in the Brentwood-Darlington Neighborhood, not Lents as initially released.

The Police Bureau regrets the error.


This afternoon, Friday March 14, 2014, at 12:44 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the 7800 block of Southeast Flavel Street on the report of a male lying in the roadway surrounded by blood with a gun lying on top of him.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and confirmed that the 57-year-old male was deceased of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Officers learned that the man was involved in an argument with his wife at a nearby residence before walking outside and shooting himself in an apparent intentional act.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner has taken custody of the body and will perform an autopsy on Saturday.
