On Tuesday January 21, 2014, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to Tom McCall Waterfront Park to assist Portland Parks & Recreation Park Rangers on an assault call.

04/26/2014 Park Ranger Threatened by a Man with a Gun in Colonel Summers Park

On Friday April 25, 2014, at 9:35 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the report that a City of Portland Park Ranger had a subject threaten him with a gun inside Colonel Summers Park, located at 1925 Southeast Taylor Street in the East Buckman neighborhood.

Officers met with the victim who told police that he drove into the park and parked by the gazebo so he would lock up the park's bathrooms for the evening.

The victim told police that the suspect was inside the gazebo then walked towards the victim, holding a handgun at his side.*-..
