The motorcycle rider killed in Thursday morning's crash has been identified as 34-year-old Damian Gerold Wyatt of Milwaukie, Oregon. ###PPB### ###ORIGINAL MESSAGE BELOW### The Traffic Division's Major Crash Team has concluded a preliminary investigation into this morning's fatal motorcycle crash on Southeast Milwaukie Avenue. Investigators believe the motorcycle rider, a 34-year-old man, was riding a 2007 Kawasaki ZX6 southbound on Milwaukie at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a partial right turn angle and went off the roadway, over the East curb and into the northwest corner of an apartment building located at 5248 Southeast Milwaukie Avenue.*-..

At approximately 10:45 p.m., the man on the Vista Bridge came down and has been transported to a Portland hospital for a mental health evaluation.

The man on the ledge of the Vista Bridge remains on the bridge this evening after more than 5 hours of crisis negotiation by Portland Police officers.

Negotiators worked with mental health workers, spoke with the man's out-of-state family, and worked with Portland Fire & Rescue to come up with a safe plan to get the man off the bridge.

At approximately 4:00 p.m., the police response at the scene was reduced and traffic was reopened.*-..
