11/01/2012 UPDATE #3 ARREST: Portland Police Investigating a Hit and Run to a Pedestrian in the North Tabor Neighborhood

Today, Thursday November 1, 2012, investigators from the Portland Police Bureau Traffic Division arrested 24-year-old Willie Xenophen Hurst III for the hit and run to 20-year-old French Foreign Exchange Student Charlotte Claudel. Hurst was taken into custody at his probation officer's office in Northeast Portland. Hurst was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Assault in the Second Degree, Felony Hit and Run, Reckless Driving, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person. Claudel was released from the hospital and continues to recover from her injuries. ###PPB### ###ORIGINAL MESSAGE BELOW### Portland Police Hit & Run Investigators are continuing to seek the public's help in identifying the driver of a vehicle that struck 20-year-old Charlotte Claudel on Monday night.
