09/13/2014 Residential Drug Robbery in Southeast Portland's Brentwood-Darlington Neighborhood - No Injuries

On Saturday September 13, 2014, at 4:41 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 5800 block of Southeast Ogden Street on the report of a residential armed robbery.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted the victim who told police that three black males, armed with handguns, entered his apartment and robbed him of marijuana and cash.*-..

On Monday July 27, 2015, at 10:49 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a residential robbery in progress at a residence in the 1700 block of Southeast 162nd Avenue.

As officers were responding to the scene, additional information was received that the suspect or suspects fled the home.

10/14/2014 Residents Use Baseball Bat to Chase Away Burglar in Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood of Southeast Portland

On Tuesday October 14, 2014, at 8:42 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to the area of Southeast 148th Avenue and Division Street on the report of someone with a baseball bat chasing a man on a bicycle.

Several officers arrived in the area and located the man with the bat, who told police he was chasing a burglar from his home.

The victim told officers that he awoke to find a burglar in his home in the 2600 block of Southeast 131st Avenue, and that he hit the suspect with baseball bat.*-..

Portland Police Bureau homicide detectives are continuing to ask for the public's help to provide information regarding the death of 38-year-old William "Cougar" Burleigh in Downtown Portland.

Friends of Cougar Burleigh are offering a reward of up to $1,000 cash for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in his death.

This investigation started on Sunday October 12, 2014, at 3:27 a.m., when Central Precinct officers responded to assist medical personnel on the report of a man lying unconscious across the street from the Portland Rescue Mission, located at 111 West Burnside Street.

Officers and medical personnel located the man non-responsive and suffering from a head injury.*-..
