11/13/2012 Portland Police Officer Assaulted in the Cully Neighborhood - Suspect Arrested

On Monday November 13, 2012, at 10:14 p.m., a Portland Police officer assigned to North Precinct was driving eastbound on Northeast Killingsworth Street at 72nd Avenue when a pedestrian jaywalked in front of his police car, just east of 72nd Avenue. Officer Jakhary Jackson, a 22-month-veteran of the Police Bureau, slowed down and told the pedestrian, later identified as 41-year-old Thomas Jack Carlston, to use a crosswalk so he wouldn't get hit by a car. 02/12/2016 Portland Police Officer Resigns After Pleading Guilty to Official Misconduct

On Friday February 12, 2016, Officer Jeromie Palaoro pled guilty to one count of Official Misconduct in the First Degree in Multnomah County Court and resigned from the Portland Police Bureau.

Palaoro was the subject of a criminal and internal investigation that began in July 2015 after the Bureau became aware of misconduct allegations.

As part of his plea agreement, Palaoro also had his police certification revoked by the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) and may no longer serve as a police officer.
