06/04/2012 Portland Police Arrest Two Men for Drug-Related Armed Robbery

This morning, Monday June 4, 2012, at 10:36 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct responded to the report of an armed robbery of a pedestrian at Northeast 82nd Avenue and Sandy Boulevard. As officers were enroute, the dispatcher broadcast information about the suspect vehicle, a silver Saturn Ion, last seen fleeing westbound on Sandy Boulevard. An officer enroute to the robbery saw the vehicle and stopped it at Northeast 41st Avenue and Tillamook Street, where 22-year-old Edward Boyer and 23-year-old Aaron Joseph Brenner were taken into custody. Officers speaking with the victim, 26-year-old Michael Turnipseed, learned that he connected with the suspects via Craigslist and was seeking to buy marijuana.*-..

Officers conducting the shooting investigation have determined that the shooting victim either intentionally or accidentally shot himself and there was never an African American male suspect involved in the shooting.
