A Multnomah County Grand Jury has indicted three men for their role in a shooting that injured a Portland Police officer and killed a Police Canine.

20-year-old Paul Alan Ropp, 20-year-old Steven Jeffrey Young and 25-year-old Jemaell Diamond Riley were named in a 30-count indictment.*-..

This afternoon, Tuesday April 29, 2014, at 2:14 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to Advantis Credit Union, located at 3515 Northeast 15th Avenue, on the report of a robbery.

04/30/2014 Public Alert: Cougar Sighting in Southwest Portland's Hayhurst Neighborhood

This morning, Wednesday April 30, 2014, at 8:54 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the area of Pendleton Park, located at 6030 Southwest 55th Drive, on the report of a cougar in the neighborhood.

The caller reported seeing a large cougar walking through Pendleton Park at about 8:45 a.m.

Officers immediately called Hayhurst School, which is adjacent to Pendleton Park, to have staff initiate a precautionary lockdown to keep children safe.

Several officers searched the area and spoke to some neighbors, one of which told police that the cougar had been in the area the past few days.

Officers did not locate the cougar and after approximately 45 minutes released the school from lockdown.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) has some tips to remember about cougars:

ODFW advises the following if you encounter a cougar:

STOP - Never approach a cougar at any time for any reason.

STAY CALM - Face the cougar and do not turn your back towards it.*-..
