05/24/2014 Gang Enforcement Team Investigating a Shooting in Southeast Portland - No Known Victims

This evening, Saturday May 24, 2014, at 7:10 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of gunshots heard in the 12700 block of Southeast Stark Street.

Officers arrived and spoke to witnesses who described hearing multiple shots and two vehicles leaving the area.*-..

05/25/2014 UPDATE - SERT Responding to Report of Armed Man Inside Centennial Neighborhood Residence (Photo)

The suspect, 29-year-old Gino Brown, was taken into custody by members of SERT and booked into the Multnomah County Jail.

Brown was charged with domestic violence charges of Strangulation, Assault in the Fourth Degree, Coercion, and Menacing (two counts).

Brown will be arraigned on Tuesday in Multnomah County Court.

This evening, Saturday May 24, 2014, at 9:04 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Southeast 155th Avenue on the report of a man inside a home threatening others with a firearm during a domestic violence incident.

Officers arrived in the area and learned that all occupants of the home were safely outside and that the armed man was alone inside the residence.

Numerous attempts to call into the home and the use of a loud speaker to gain the man's attention have not yielded a response.*-..

05/25/2014 Gang Enforcement Team Investigating Kerns Neighborhood Shooting on Saturday Evening - No Known Victims

On Saturday May 24, 2014, at 9:48 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to Northeast 6th Avenue and Davis Street on the report of several gunshots heard and two vehicles speeding away.

Officers arrived in the area and located evidence of gunfire but did not find any gunshot victims and none arrived at Portland area hospitals.

Witnesses told police that they heard multiple gunshots and saw two vehicles speeding away from the area.

The Gang Enforcement Team responded to conduct an investigation.

The Portland Police Bureau's Gang Enforcement Team and Gun Task Force are continuing to actively investigate gang and gun crimes in the City of Portland.*-..

On Tuesday May 27, 2014, at 12:56 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of multiple gunshots heard at the Columbia Ridge Apartments, located at 15916 Northeast Sandy Boulevard.

Officers arrived in the area and located evidence of gunfire and learned that one occupied apartment had been struck by multiple rounds of gunfire.*-..

Portland Police are asking for the public's help in safely locating 7-year-old Michael Wagner, Jr., who was last seen near his residence in the 2700 Block of S.E. 84th Place in Portland at about 8:30 a.m. this morning, May 27, 2014.

Michael is believed to have run off voluntarily, and no foul play is suspected.*-..

05/30/2014 Thousands of People Expected to Attend the Starlight Run and Parade on Saturday Night (Photo)

On Saturday May 31, 2014, the Portland Police Bureau expects tens of thousands of spectators to come into Downtown Portland in the afternoon and evening to watch the Rose Festival's Starlight Run and Parade.

The Starlight Run begins at 7:30 p.m. and the parade begins at 8:30 p.m.

Officers from all three precincts, the Traffic Division and the Transit Police Division will be all along the parade route to keep spectators safe and to respond to any calls for service.

The Portland Police Bureau would like to encourage spectators to avoid bringing bags and other equipment to the parade that isn't necessary and to avoid leaving items unattended.

Spectators seeing anything suspicious or incidents needing police service are asked to call 9-1-1 or to flag down an officer.*-..
