06/02/2014 UPDATE - Suspect Arrested in Argay Neighborhood Burglary and Attempted Sexual Assault Investigation

The suspect in this morning's burglary and attempted sexual assault has been identified as 17-year-old Justin Dejohn Hubbard.

Sex Crimes Unit detectives learned that Hubbard broke into the victim's apartment this morning, armed with a knife, and attempted to sexually assault the 26-year-old female victim.*-..

06/05/2014 Portland Police Detective to Carry Torch in Final Leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics (Photo)

The 2014 Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics Final Leg is to be held in New Jersey, prior to the official opening of the 45th Annual Special Olympics Summer Games, June 14 - 21, 2014.

The Final Leg features law enforcement officers from all 50 states who go through a very selective process by each respective state LETR program.

Portland Police Bureau Detective Hilary Scott, a 12-year-veteran of the Portland Police Bureau, has been unanimously selected by the Oregon LETR Executive Council to represent the State of Oregon.

Six teams of Law Enforcement Officers, who are considered the "Guardians of the Flame", will run the Torch through several cities and hamlets throughout the State of New Jersey on the run up to the official start of the National Summer Games and the Opening Ceremonies.

Detective Scott will be paired with a Special Olympics Athlete who will be participating in the National Games for the entire week of the Final Leg.

06/09/2014 UPDATE: 18-Year-Old Dies After Being Hit by a Train, Knocked into the Willamette River

The Oregon State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on 18-year-old Taishawn Nathaniel Millage and determined that he drowned after being knocked into the Willamette River by a train on Friday night.

It is unknown why Millage, a North Portland resident, was walking on the train bridge.
