05/12/2014 16-Year-Old Boy Killed in Cully Neighborhood Homicide - No Suspect Information

This morning, Monday May 12, 2014, at 3:04 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the Northeast 59th Avenue and Simpson Street on the report that neighbors found a deceased male, who appeared to have a gunshot wound, seated inside a parked vehicle.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and checked inside the vehicle, where they located a deceased male, later identified as a 16-year-old boy who resides in Southeast Portland's Lents Neighborhood.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim suffered fatal gunshot wounds while he was sitting in the driver's seat of a red 1994 Nissan Sentra.*-..

This evening, Monday May 12, 2014, at 7:04 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to Peninsula Park, located at 700 North Rosa Parks Way, on the report of gunshots heard in the area and several African American males seen running though the park.

Officers arrived and located evidence of gunfire on the eastside of the park but did not locate any victims or suspects.

At 7:21 p.m., officers responded to the 4000 block of Northeast 13th Avenue on the report of multiple gunshots heard in the area.
