08/05/2014 Portland Police to Provide Enhanced Presence at MLS All-Star Game at Providence Park

On Wednesday August 6, 2014, the Portland Police Bureau will be providing an enhanced presence in and around Providence Park for the 2014 Major League Soccer All-Star Game.

The game is a sellout and police are expecting a very festive and safe evening for all in attendance.

Traffic will not be allowed on Southwest 18th Avenue, between Salmon and Morrison Streets and persons attending the game are encouraged to use TriMet.

Officers from Central Precinct, the Traffic Division, Transit Police, and the Mounted Patrol Unit will all be in the area to keep everyone safe.

As with any major event, people seeing something suspicious are encouraged to report it immediately to Providence Park Security or the nearest police officer.*-..

In response to yesterday's tragic shooting at Clackamas Town Center, Portland Police officers will be providing extra patrol around Portland shopping malls and business districts with a high concentration of retail establishments. The Portland Police Bureau?s Traffic Division will be conducting a DUII "Wet Lab" on Wednesday February 1, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. ? 5:00 p.m., at the Traffic Division office, located at 4735 East Burnside Street. This "wet lab" is in accordance with local and national efforts to prevent drunk driving on Super Bowl Sunday.
