02/19/2013 Update on Officer-Involved Shooting - Suspect Identified

The suspect killed in Sunday night's officer-involved shooting has been identified as 50-year-old Merle Mikal Hatch. The Oregon State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy this morning and determined that Hatch died after receiving multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators have learned that at the time of his death, Hatch was a Federal fugitive being sought by the U.S. Marshal's Office on an original charge of Bank Robbery.*-..

06/12/2014 Update on Officer-Involved Shooting on the Springwater Corridor

This morning, Thursday June 12, 2014, at 6:03 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to Southeast Foster Road at 104th Avenue on the report of a pedestrian robbery.

Two officers arrived in the area and spoke to the male adult victim and learned that the incident was an assault rather than a robbery and the victim provided information on where the suspect was last seen in the area.*-..

07/12/2012 Update on Old Town Search Warrant at Hip Sing Association Building

Investigators from the Metro Gang Task Force (MGTF) arrested seven (7) people in connection with this morning's search warrant at the Hip Sing Association building in Downtown Portland's Old Town neighborhood. All seven (7) people were booked into the Multnomah County Jail on state charges, unrelated felony warrants or parole violation detainers. Some of these suspects may face federal charges. Investigators recovered more than two (2) ounces of methamphetamine, drug packaging materials, digital scales, ammunition, surveillance equipment, multiple weapons (not firearms), body armor and various stolen items including computers and dozens of bicycles. Investigators from the Central Precinct Neighborhood Response Team (NRT) assisted in the investigation and will be going through the recovered stolen property in an attempt to determine the rightful owners. Arrested in connection with this investigation and search warrant are: 40-year-old Tracey Scott Ledoux (Parole Violation) 31-year-old Amy Sue Macioroski (Warrant - Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle) 43-year-old Donald Stumpff (Parole Violation) 42-year-old Troy Lee Guy (Possession of Methamphetamine) 32-year-old Jennifer Ann Mahoney (Possession of Methamphetamine) 28-year-old Lisa Marie Mills (Parole Violation) 25-year-old Sean Michael Evans (Warrant - Theft in the Second Degree) The Metro Gang Task Force (MGTF) is a multi-agency investigative unit commanded by Captain Tim Gerkman of the Gresham Police Department.*-..

11/20/2012 Update on Portland Police Officer Injured by Falling Tree During Monday's Storm

The Portland Police officer injured yesterday during a training accident is continuing to recover at a Portland hospital. Officer Paul Meyer of the Portland Police Bureau is assigned to the Training Division and the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT). Officer Meyer has been protecting and serving the Portland community for more than 19 years. Officer Meyer is in serious condition at this time and will remain in the hospital. Officers who witnessed the accident described the falling tree as a telephone pole-sized tree that fell from 30 feet in the sky before striking Officer Meyer on his ATV.
