07/31/2014 Gang Enforcement Team Investigating an Overnight Shooting that Injured a 20-Year-Old Man

On Wednesday July 30, 2014, at approximately 11:30 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center on the report that a gunshot victim arrived at the hospital via private vehicle.

Officers responded to the hospital where they contacted 20-year-old Johnny Ray Brown Jr., who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his right arm.*-..

07/31/2014 Stabbing Investigation Underway in Northeast Portland's Montavilla Neighborhood

This afternoon, Thursday July 31, 2014, at 1:01 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a stabbing at a residence in the 1100 block of Northeast 75th Avenue.

As officers were en route to the scene they learned that the victim was being taken by private car to the hospital for treatment and that the suspects fled the area.

Officers arrived at the scene and learned that the male adult victim was stabbed by a Hispanic male and two other people were assaulted by the stabbing suspect and another Hispanic male.

The stabbing victim arrived at Providence Hospital by private car then was taken by ambulance to a trauma hospital.*-..

07/31/2014 Public Alert: Stranger Approaches Children at Kmart in Northeast Portland's Argay Neighborhood

This afternoon, Thursday July 31, 2014, at 11:34 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the Kmart Store, located at 12350 Northeast Sandy Boulevard, on the report that an unknown male touched two children inside the store then fled the area when confronted by their mother.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted the victim who told police that she was shopping with her two children, an 8-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy, and that both children were sitting on the floor inside the store, near their shopping cart.

The victim told police that she walked away from the cart to an adjacent aisle momentarily when a man approached her two children and rubbed their shoulders and was speaking in both English and Spanish.*-..

The suspect taken into custody for the initial stabbing has been transported to a Portland hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.

08/01/2014 Public's Help Sought in Locating a Missing Endangered Person (Photo)

The Portland Police Bureau's Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public's help to locate 22-year-old Jesse James Preedit.

Preedit was last seen on May 7, 2014, at his Downtown Portland residence, approximately one week after he was discharged from a hospital for self-inflicted injuries.

Investigators have exhausted all avenues of information and are asking for the public's help to locate Preedit.
