This morning, Thursday November 17, 2011, the Portland Police Bureau has closed the Steel Bridge to all pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle traffic due to concerns about protesters attempting to interfere with bridge operations. The bridge will remain open for all TriMet bus and MAX service as well as freight and passenger rail service. All pedestrians, bicycle riders and private vehicles are encouraged to use alternate routes this morning or to use TriMet. Commuters during the morning hours should expect congestion at the Steel Bridge and streets leading to the Steel Bridge.*-..

In the past week, several stickers were posted in and around some Portland Public Schools that caused alarm for students, staff and parents.

The QR code and web address listed on the sticker led visitors to a webpage with a countdown clock with no additional information.

The Portland Police Youth Services Division, North Precinct and Portland Public Schools all have conducted an investigation into these stickers and have learned that they are part of a student-run "treasure hunt" of sorts, using smart phone app.*-..

09/12/2013 Stolen Bicycle Recovered when Suspect Rides up to Police in Downtown Portland

This morning, Thursday September 12, 2013, Central Precinct officers were assisting the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) with a sidewalk clean-up along Southwest Madison Street, 3rd to 4th Avenues, when 39-year-old Jason Lee Elmore rode a bicycle onto the sidewalk where officers were standing.
