11/19/2013 UPDATE #2: Major Crash Team Responding to Investigate Single Vehicle Crash on I-205 Southbound at Woodstock - Freeway Affected

Today, Tuesday November 19, 2013, the driver involved in this crash, 19-year-old Volodymyr Kokhanevych, was issued criminal citations for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII), Reckless Driving, Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor), and two counts of Reckless Endangerment.

He remains in a Portland hospital recovering from his injuries.



The Traffic Division's Major Crash Team has concluded a preliminary investigation into last night's single vehicle crash on I-205 southbound.

11/21/2013 Service Coordination Team Graduation This Morning at City Hall

The Portland Police Bureau's Service Coordination Team (SCT) has scheduled a graduation for Thursday November 21, 2013, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., in City Council Chambers at Portland's City Hall.

City Hall is located at 1220 Southwest 4th Avenue.

Refreshments will be served immediately afterward in the foyer on the first floor.

The Service Coordination Team is a Portland Police Bureau program that provides drug treatment to chronic offenders as an alternative to incarceration, working to address the root cause of their criminal activity.

Thursday, the SCT will be honoring 16 graduates from Central City Concern's Housing Rapid Response Program and NISA programs, as well as the Volunteers of America Day Treatment and Residential Support Programs.

This will bring the total number of SCT graduates to 132 people.

Darrell White, Class of 2009, will be Master of Ceremonies, Commissioner Amanda Fritz and Portland Police Chief Mike Reese will be making welcoming remarks.

Expected to attend are the 16 new graduates.*-..

11/21/2013 Investigative and Internal Investigation Reports on Officer Dane Reister Termination Released

The Portland Police Bureau has posted investigative materials, the internal review, the Training Division review, and the termination letter associated with Officer Dane Reister who was terminated from the Portland Police Bureau on October 15, 2013.

These materials were released after an order to do so by the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office who considered an appeal by members of the Portland media.

Officer Dane Reister was terminated for violations of Directive 315.30 (Unsatisfactory Performance) and Directive 1050.00 (Less Lethal Weapons and Munitions).

The violations stem from the June 30, 2011, incident involving the shooting of lethal rounds rather than less lethal shotgun rounds, which critically injured William Monroe.*-..
