09/22/2014 UPDATE: Child Critically Injured in Fall in Southeast Portland's Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood

The 3-year-old boy who fell from a 2nd story window on Sunday afternoon did not survive his injuries despite the life-saving efforts of medical staff at a Portland hospital on Sunday evening.

The Child Abuse Team will review the case but, at this point, there is no indication that this incident is anything but a tragic accident.

On Sunday September 21, 2014, at 3:56 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to Southeast 113th Avenue and Division Street on the report that a small child fell from an upper window and was being transported by private car to a hospital for treatment to a head injury.

Officers and medical personnel arrived on 113th Avenue and met the family with the child.*-..

09/23/2014 Lents Neighborhood Alert: Detectives Investigating Sexual Assault by a Stranger in Lents Park

On Monday September 22, 2014, at 11:52 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to Lents Park, located at Southeast 92nd Avenue and Holgate Boulevard, on the report of a sexual assault.

Several officers arrived in the area and located the 24-year-old female victim who told police she was walking in the neighborhood when she was struck on the head by the suspect then sexually assaulted in the southeast area of the park, near the basketball courts.

The victim described the suspect to officers as an African American male, 30 to 49 years old, 6'1" tall, 170 to 180 pounds, "sunken" hazel to gold-colored eyes, wearing a red FUBU hooded sweatshirt, old white ragged shoes without laces, and that he was armed with a small bat and had a gun in his waistband.

The victim told officers that she may have seen the suspect in Lents Park in the past but could not be sure.

Sex Crimes Unit detectives are in contact with the victim and are investigating the case.

09/23/2014 Sunnyside Neighborhood Alert: Stranger Enters Woman's Home, Touches Her then Flees

On Monday September 22, 2014, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Southeast 29th Avenue after a woman called 9-1-1 to report that she woke up in her bed to someone touching her body.

Several officers, including a Police K-9 responded to the area and began searching for the suspect.

The victim told police that she was sleeping and she awoke to an unknown male touching her body.*-..

On Wednesday September 24, 2014, at 2:44 a.m. , East Precinct officers responded to the Montavilla Sewing Center, located at 8326 Southeast Stark Street, to conduct a premise check after a report that someone broke out a window and tripped an alarm at the business.

09/26/2014 UPDATE - ARRESTS: Crime Stoppers Featured Case #14-37 University Club Burglary (Photo)

The two female suspects in this case saw themselves on the news and turned themselves in to Portland Police on Thursday evening.

18-year-old Dejha Olivia Carol Islam Roberts, aka Dejha Roberts; and, 19-year-old Raeven Seamoan Scheidl were both booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Burglary in the Second Degree and Theft in the Second Degree.

Detectives are continuing to seek information on the whereabouts of the final suspect, 20-year-old Julien Perez.

On Friday September 26, 2014, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Portland Police Bureau Chief Mike Reese was flagged down at Southwest 5th Avenue and Madison Street about a man who stole two guitars from the Bing Lounge, located at Alpha Media USA in the Pacwest Center.

Security directed the Chief to Chapman Square, located at Southwest 4th Avenue and Madison Street, where the suspect was taken into custody without incident.*-..
