01/21/2014 UPDATE - Officers Investigating Report of Gunshots Fired at Southeast 82nd and Foster Road

Officers have completed a search of the neighborhood after this report of gunshots fired in the area.

Three area businesses were struck by gunfire including, the Shell Gas station, Automotive Outfitters and Taco Time.

At this point there is no good suspect information to share.

Gang Enforcement Team investigators are at the scene conducting an investigation.

The Portland Police Bureau Gang Enforcement Team and Gun Task Force are continuing to actively investigate gang and gun crimes in the City of Portland.*-..

Officers succesfully talked the man into coming off the bridge and going to the hospital.

Bridge operation and all traffic lanes are back to normal.

01/21/2014 Two Franklin High School Students Arrested on Gun Charges - Handgun Recovered

This afternoon, Tuesday January 21, 2014, at 12:01 p.m., Youth Services Division officers responded to Franklin High School to investigate the report that a student was seen with a handgun at an off-campus location over lunch.

YSD officers arrived and spoke with staff who told police that they received a report that some students were off-campus for lunch at the Burger King location at Southeast Foster Road and Powell Boulevard, and that one student displayed a handgun to the group.

Officers learned the identities of the students involved and began contacting them in school.*-..

This evening, Wednesday January 22, 2014, at 9:49 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 4500 block of Northeast Killingsworth Street on the report of a stabbing.

01/23/2014 Crime Stoppers Featured Case #14-04 Hillsboro Homicide (Photo)

The Hillsboro Police Department, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help in solving the homicide of a 50-year-old man.

On Friday January 17, 2014, officers from the Hillsboro Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call of a male who had been violently assaulted inside his residence and was in need of medical attention near Southeast Alder and 12th Avenue in Hillsboro.

The victim, 50 year-old Nicholas "Pablo" Perez-Angeles, was transported to a Portland hospital where he later died from his injuries.

This incident is being investigated as a homicide by the Hillsboro Police Department and the Washington County Major Crimes Team and they are asking for the public's help with information on this case.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony, and tipsters can remain anonymous.

On January 5, 2014, North Precinct officers were contacted by the owner of the Vieng Lao Oriental Food Center, located at 1032 North Killingsworth Street, regarding a fake gold scam.

The victim told police that the two suspects initially came into the store on December 21, 2013, and said they needed to sell some Chinese-style gold ingots for cash.*-..
