On Sunday February 2, 2014, at 12:27 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the Oregon Zoo parking lot on the report of a man sitting in a vehicle holding a handgun.

Several officers responded to the area and located 29-year-old Ryan Alexander Stratford sitting in a black 2005 Volkswagen Jetta in the parking lot.

Officers located the vehicle and ordered Stratford to put his hands out the window.*-..

The suspect vehicle is now believed to be a Ford Taurus, not a Buick as initially reported.



Today, Monday February 3, 2014, Portland Police detectives are releasing surveillance photos connected with an investigation into an incident where a man posing as an undercover police officer stopped a woman and searched her car.

On Friday January 17, 2014, the victim in this case met with a police sketch artist and a composite drawing of the suspect is being released to the public to aid in the identification of the suspect.

This investigation started on Sunday January 12, 2014, at approximately 1:30 a.m., when a 33-year-old woman (who has asked not to be identified publicly) stopped at the Plaid Pantry convenience store located at Southeast Grand Avenue and East Burnside Street.*-..

02/04/2014 Crime Stoppers Featured Case #14-09 Armed Robbery (Photo)

The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help in identifying three armed robbery suspects.

On January 5, 2014, at 3:15 p.m., the Boom Boom Room, located at 8343 Southwest Barbur Boulevard, was robbed by three suspects, two of them armed with a handgun.

Surveillance images of the three suspects are being released to help identify the three men to detectives.

Suspect #1 is described as an African American male with a heavy build, wearing glasses.

Suspect #2 is described as an African American male in his late 30s to early 40s, 5'11" to 6'1" tall, 190 to 210 pounds, armed with a handgun.

Suspect #3 is described as an African American male in his late 20s to early 30s, 230 to 240 pounds, armed with a handgun.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony, and tipsters can remain anonymous.

02/04/2014 Beaumont-Wilshire Neighborhood Flasher Exposes Himself to 9-Year-Old Boy

This evening, Tuesday February 4, 2014, at 4:45 p.m, North Precinct officers responded to the area of Northeast 45th Avenue and Stanton Street on the report that a male exposed himself to a 9-year-old boy outside a home in the neighborhood.

Multiple officers responded to the area and began search for the suspect, described as a white male in his 40s, 5'9" tall, heavy build, dark brown hair, a short scruffy beard, wearing a white t-shirt and blue or turquoise boxer shorts.

The victim told police that the suspect ran northbound on 45th Avenue, stopped in front of a residence in the 2800 block, dropped his pants in front of the child, then ran away, last seen eastbound on Stanton Street.

Officers did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description and did not get a report of any vehicle involved with today's incident.

North Precinct officers are actively investigating this report along with multiple others in the neighborhood that have occurred over the past few weeks.

In a previous incident, a possible suspect vehicle was reported to be a gray to gold to brown larger American sedan.

Area residents are asked to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.*-..
