12/08/2014 Reward Offered for Information on Death of William "Cougar" Burleigh (Photo)

Portland Police Bureau homicide detectives are continuing to ask for the public's help to provide information regarding the death of 38-year-old William "Cougar" Burleigh in Downtown Portland.

Friends of Cougar Burleigh are offering a reward of up to $1,000 cash for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in his death.

This investigation started on Sunday October 12, 2014, at 3:27 a.m., when Central Precinct officers responded to assist medical personnel on the report of a man lying unconscious across the street from the Portland Rescue Mission, located at 111 West Burnside Street.

Officers and medical personnel located the man non-responsive and suffering from a head injury.*-..

12/08/2014 Armed Robbery Investigation Underway on Hayden Island

This morning, Monday December 8, 2014, at 8:39 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at Huddy's Deli, located at 12055 North Center Avenue.

Officers responded and contacted the employee who told police that the suspect entered the business, armed with a handgun, and demanded money.*-..

12/08/2014 Man Injured After Hash Oil Explosion in Centennial Neighborhood Apartment

On Monday December 8, 2014, at 12:55 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 17200 block of Southeast Powell Boulevard on the report of three people arguing and fighting in front of an apartment.

As officers were en route to the scene, they received additional information that one subject punched another in the face, a window was heard breaking and that someone had a knife and was threatening to stab someone.

Officers arrived but learned that everyone involved left the area.*-..

12/08/2014 Christmas Day 2012 Murder Suspect Pleads Guilty to Several Charges - Sentenced to Life in Prison (Photo)

On Monday December 8, 2014, 39-year-old Michael James Kirkland pled guilty to several charges in connection with the December 25, 2012 murder of 33-year-old Jaime Lyn Larson.

Kirkland pled guilty to charges of Aggravated Murder, Strangulation (Felony), Abuse of a Corpse, Burglary in the First Degree, and Theft in the Third Degree, and was sentenced to life in prison.

The investigation started on December 25, 2012, at 9:56 p.m., when Central Precinct officers responded to a residence in the Park Terrace Apartments, located at 2073 Southwest Park Avenue, on the report of a deceased adult female.*-..

12/10/2014 Crime Stoppers Featured Case #14-48 Gresham Robbery and Assault (Photo)

The Gresham Police Department, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help in identifying two robbery suspects who left a man beaten and unconscious.

On November 1, 2014, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a 28-year-old man was assaulted and robbed after he left the Stagecoach Saloon, located at 20101 Northeast Sandy Boulevard.

The victim was approached by two men in the parking lot, both of whom assaulted him and stole his wallet.*-..

On Monday December 9, 2014, at approximately 11:00 p.m., North Precinct officers stopped to contact a man and a woman in a gravel parking lot on Northeast Simpson Street and Portland Highway.

The male quickly turned away from the officers as he unzipped his jacket and reached inside as he walked around the front of a parked pick-up truck.*-..
