On January 13, 2015, Crisis Negotiators from across the United States and Canada met in Austin, Texas for the 25th Annual Crisis Negotiator Competition, hosted by Texas State University's School of Criminal Justice.

01/16/2015 56-Year-Old Woman Injured by Hit and Run Driver in Northeast Portland's Cully Neighborhood (Photo)

On Friday January 16, 2015, at 6:52 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at Northeast 57th Avenue and Prescott Street.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the pedestrian, 56-year-old Clarice Charging, suffering from serious injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.

The vehicle that struck Charging fled the scene and was last seen traveling eastbound on Prescott.

The suspect vehicle is described as a 2005-2006 Ford Escape, possibly gray in color.*-..

On Wednesday January 28, 2015, at 10:40 a.m., the Portland Police Bureau G.R.E.A.T. Program will be honoring students at Creston School, located at 4701 Southeast Bush Street in the Creston-Kenilworth Neighborhood.

01/16/2015 UPDATE - ARREST: Driver Assaulted, Car Stolen in Northwest Portland

The Oregon State Police located the suspect and the stolen vehicle on I-205 in West Linn and took her into custody.

The suspect, 38-year-old Brooke Kristin Defrees, will be booked into the Multnomah County Jail on multiple charges including Robbery in the Third Degree, Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, Assault in the Fourth Degree, Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, and Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver (Hit & Run).

On Friday January 16, 2015, at 4:26 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to Northwest 25th Avenue and Thurman Street on the report of a carjacking.

Officers arrived in the area and located the male adult victim who told police that a female jumped into the passenger seat of his car and threw a full beer can at him.*-..

On Saturday January 17, 2015, at 3:37 p.m., a handcuffed suspect ran police after being arrested in connection with a domestic violence investigation at a residence in the 15600 block of Southeast Stark Street.
