04/21/2013 UPDATE: Portland Police Investigating Stabbing of TriMet Bus Operator in Southeast Portland's Lents Neighborhood

Portland Police officers searching the Lents neighborhood last night did not locate the suspect involved in stabbing a TriMet bus operator, identified as 35-year-old Brian Nixon. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Assault Detail at (503) 823-0400. ###PPB### ###ORIGINAL MESSAGE BELOW### This evening, Saturday April 20, 2013, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to the report of a stabbing at Southeast 92nd Avenue and Flavel Street. As officers were enroute they learned that the victim was a TriMet bus operator and that the suspect ran into the neighborhood after the stabbing. Officers arrived in the area and contacted the victim, an adult male, who told police that he was using the portable restroom for TriMet when he heard banging on the door.*-..

01/02/2013 UPDATE: Portland Police Investigating the Report of a Carjacking on Airport Way

The suspect in this afternoon's carjacking in Northeast Portland has been identified as 18-year-old Devon Mack. Mack was arrested on charges of Robbery in the Third Degree, Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, Attempt to Elude in a Vehicle, Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle, Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII), Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver, and Reckless Driving. Officers learned that Mack walked up to the victim inside her vehicle in the parking lot of Lacrosse Footwear, pulled her out, then drove away in her SUV westbound on Airport Way. Calls later linked to the carjacking came in to 9-1-1 about a car off the road at Northeast 148th Avenue and Marine Drive and a drunk driver near Northeast 33rd Avenue and Marine Drive. Officers from the Port of Portland Police spotted the vehicle on Marine Drive and followed it to Northeast 122nd Avenue and Airport Way where a Port of Portland Police officer attempted to stop the vehicle by using a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) but the vehicle turned westbound on Airport Way in the eastbound lanes. 09/22/2011 UPDATE: Portland Police Investigating Traffic Crash in Southeast Portland - Police Vehicle and Bicycle Rider Involved

The Portland Police Bureau Traffic Division has completed its investigation into last nights crash between a Portland Police Bureau Forensic Evidence Division vehicle and a bicycle rider. The investigator spoke with the bicycle rider, the Police Criminalist and an independent witness as part of the investigation. The bicycle rider, 22-year-old Derek Edward Poitra of Southeast Portland, was riding eastbound on the sidewalk on the north side of Powell Boulevard just after crossing Southeast 50th Avenue. The Police Criminalist, Jess Morgan a 20-year-veteran of the Police Bureau, was pulling out of a parking lot on the northeast corner of 50th and Powell, with the intent of turning westbound onto Powell.*-..

11/15/2011 UPDATE: Portland Police Missing Persons Detectives Seek Public's Help Finding 4-Year-Old

4-year-old Braxton Thompson has been located safe and sound and per court order he has been reunited with his grandmother. Detectives from the Missing Persons Unit obtained information on Darlene Thompson-Burns whereabouts and officers from the Portland Police Bureau's East Precinct located her and Braxton at a residence in Southeast Portland. Braxton was in good health and taken back to his grandmother, who is his legal guardian.
