This Tuesday, Veteran's Day, the Portland Police Bureau Sunshine Division and Walmart will be teaming up to help military families and veterans by packing 500 food boxes from 11am to 1pm at the Sunshine Division Warehouse (687 N. On Wednesday May 18, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Portland Police Bureau Sunshine Division and Walmart will be teaming up at Sunshine Division's warehouse, located at 687 North Thompson Street, to pack 1,000 food boxes to be distributed to veterans and military families throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Walmart has provided ongoing support of Sunshine Division's food assistance programs and is teaming up again to address another common mission: aiding veterans and military families with food support.

Through continued funding from a $31,000 Walmart Foundation grant, the Sunshine Division will expand its existing military and veteran assistance programs with a special food box event as well as ongoing food box and pantry support through their facility.

The recipients of the boxes include qualifying Sunshine Division clients and nonprofit partners: Operation Homefront and American Military Encouragement Network (A.M.E.N.). Operation Homefront and A.M.E.N. also provide varied year-round support to military families and veterans throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Food boxes will be distributed to pre-registered recipients at Operation Homefront on Friday, May 20, the day prior to Armed Forces Day.*-..

On Tuesday, November 4, the Portland Winterhawks, the team's Booster Club, and the Sunshine Division are teaming up to help brighten the day of 25 students from Lincoln Park Elementary.
