The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined that the woman who died after jumping from the Vista Bridge on Tuesday was 19-year-old Aris Donshae Bishop of Southwest Portland. The death was ruled a suicide. The Portland Police Bureau wants you to know that help is available for community members struggling from a mental health crisis and/or suicidal thoughts. 01/12/2014 UPDATE - North Precinct Officers Respond to Shooting (Photo)

Portland Police Assault detectives are continuing to investigate last night's shooting in the 3700 block of Northeast Rodney Avenue.

50-year-old Harry Brogdon was treated and released at a Portland hospital for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Brogdon told police that three unknown males approached him from behind and one of them started shooting, striking him once in the shoulder.

Brogdon was unable to provide any additional information.

Upon his release from the hospital, Brogdon was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on an unrelated Federal warrant.

01/21/2014 UPDATE - Officers Investigating Report of Gunshots Fired at Southeast 82nd and Foster Road

Officers have completed a search of the neighborhood after this report of gunshots fired in the area.

Three area businesses were struck by gunfire including, the Shell Gas station, Automotive Outfitters and Taco Time.

At this point there is no good suspect information to share.

Gang Enforcement Team investigators are at the scene conducting an investigation.

01/21/2014 UPDATE - Officers Talking with Despondent Man Threatening to Jump Off the Burnside Bridge

Officers succesfully talked the man into coming off the bridge and going to the hospital.

Bridge operation and all traffic lanes are back to normal.



This afternoon, Tuesday January 21, 2014, at 2:01 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the Burnside Bridge on the report of a man threatening to jump from the bridge into the Willamette River.
