04/05/2015 Crime Stoppers Featured Case #15-13 - Wanted Bellevue Homicide Suspect (Photo)

The Bellevue (WA) Police Department, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to locate a wanted homicide suspect, possibly in the Portland area.

The homicide occurred on March 31, 2015, in Bellevue, Washington, and investigators have identified 30-year-old Song Wang as the suspect.

Wang has a felony warrant for homicide and is described as an Asian male, 5'8" tall and 160 pounds.

Wang is considered armed and dangerous and was last reported to be in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday April 4, 2015.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony, and tipsters can remain anonymous.*-..

04/09/2015 Z-Man Scholarship Foundation Awarding Nine New Student Scholarships Tonight (Photo)

On Thursday April 9, 2015, at 6:15 p.m., the Z-Man Scholarship Foundation will award nine new students with scholarships, bringing the total number of students awarded to 44 since 2009.

The ceremony will be held at North Precinct, located at 449 Northeast Emerson Street.

Media is invited to attend and interview scholarship recipients, parents and Police Bureau mentors.

For six years the Z-Man Scholarship Foundation has awarded scholarships to dedicated students from low-income families with limited educational opportunities.

The students who are selected to receive Z-Man scholarships have demonstrated a commitment to public service and leadership in their communities.

To further these qualities, each of these students is matched with a mentor from the Portland Police Bureau or other law enforcement agency.*-..

04/06/2015 Man Armed with Two Axes Taken Into Custody at Division Street MAX Platform - Taken to Hospital

On Monday April 6, 2015, at 3:06 p.m., East Precinct officers were dispatched to the Mall 205 Home Depot, located at 10120 Southeast Washington Street, on the report that a man stole two small axes from Home Depot and was swinging them at people as he ran through the parking lot.

Several officers arrived in the area as additional information was received that the man appeared to be under the influence of drugs, was wearing a blue handkerchief over his face and that he boarded as southbound MAX at the Main Street platform.

East Precinct and Transit Police Division officers coordinated with TriMet to get the train to hold at the Division Street MAX platform.

Officers arrived at the platform and contacted the subject who complied with officers and was taken into custody without incident.

The man was transported to a Portland hospital for a mental health and drug evaluation.*-..
