POLICE OFFICERS, DISPATCHERS, AND FIREFIGHTERS HELP OUT

On December 23, 2001, Portland Police officers were taking a police report at a home near SE 172nd Ave. and SE Powell St. when they noticed that there were no presents under the Christmas tree. Officers then learned that the complainant was a single mother with six children ages 3-17. Officers also learned that the family was in need of food and that they had no money for Christmas gifts.
