Teenage Females Arrested In Northeast Portland Robbery

January 12, 2007 00:00

On Thursday, January 11, 2007, at 4:00 pm, Northeast Precinct officers and Transit Police officers arrested 14-year-old Chelsea Rivers, 13-year-old Brianna Streeter, 16-year-old Mary Michelle Blackshear and 13-year-old Rinita Lowe on one count of Robbery in the Second Degree, one count of Intimidation in the First Degree, and one count of Assault in the Third Degree after responding to a reported fight in the 1100 block of Northeast Holliday Street. When officers arrived, they contacted a 16-year-old female who told officers she had been robbed and assaulted by four suspects. Officers broadcast the suspect descriptions and additional responding officers located the suspects.

Detectives were called to the scene and interviewed the suspects and victim. During the subsequent interviews, detectives learned the victim was targeted because of her race.

Detectives are seeking information from anyone who may have seen a confrontation between several teenage females on MAX at either the Rose Quarter or Lloyd Center stop anytime Thursday afternoon or anyone who may have seen a confrontation between several juveniles on or near the Lloyd Center MAX platform at approximately 4:00 pm. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Heidi Housley at (503) 823-1080.

This investigation is continuing.
