EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING

On September 27, 2001, at 8:00 a.m., the Portland Police Bureau will hold a training exercise to assess its response to a chemical or biological act of terrorism. The Portland Fire Bureau will facilitate the training exercise. The training will be held at the University of Portland. Portland Police Chief Mark A. Kroeker and members of the Portland Police Bureau command staff will oversee and evaluate the training exercise.

This training exercise is part of a comprehensive proactive plan to ensure the safety of Portland’s citizens in the event of an act of terrorism. Some portions of the training exercise will be open to the media. If you wish to have access to this event, contact Officer Henry Groepper at (503) 823-0830.
