Crime Stoppers Week of 07-30-07

August 01, 2007 00:00

The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers, is asking for your help identifying a serial robber caught on tape.

Beginning July 8, 2007, and continuing through July 24, 2007, a lone suspect has been robbing small businesses throughout the Portland Metro area. The suspect has targeted small retail businesses and restaurants, near closing time, where there is usually only one employee. During one of the robberies, the suspect was caught on tape.

The suspect is described as a white male, early to late 20’s, 5’9” to 6’ tall with a very thin build and a pale white complexion. The suspect may be wearing a long blonde hair wig that has been described as “dirty and greasy.” In several of the robberies, the suspect has carried various types of bags, including designer logo bags and wears designer sunglasses. In the video, he is wearing a dark stocking cap, long sleeve shirt and jeans. In each robbery, the suspect has been armed with a handgun tucked in his waistband.

A possible suspect vehicle is a black mid 1980’s pickup truck, possibly a Datsun or similar import. The truck is 2WD, with a black canopy that has rectangular tinted windows, and chrome hubcaps.

This suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony, and you remain anonymous. Call Crime Stoppers at (503) 823-HELP (4357).
