Detectives from the Portland Police Bureau’s Missing Persons Unit are asking for the public’s help in locating 65-year-old Ronald Huntley, a medically endangered Salem man who disappeared from the Portland Veterans Hospital sometime around noon today. Medical staff described Huntley as unfamiliar with the Portland area and, because of his medical condition, believe he would have trouble getting around on his own. Huntley may be confused and may not be aware of the seriousness of his condition which, doctors say, could be life threatening if not treated as soon as possible. Huntley is described as a white male, 65 years old, 5‘10”, 200 pounds, with short, light brown and grey hair, with scruffy, greying stubble. He may be wearing glasses and walks with the assistance of a cane. Huntley was last seen wearing maroon hospital scrubs with “VA” on the back pocket, sandals with white socks, and a red, white and blue warm-up jacket. He was also carrying a white hospital bag.
Police urge anyone who sees Huntley, or knows of his current whereabouts, to call 9-1-1, or to contact Detective Mike Weinstein, of the Portland Police Bureau Missing Persons Unit, with further information, at (503) 823-0446.
