On December 20, 2001, officers from the Portland Police Bureau Drugs and Vice Division made contact with the occupants of an apartment in the 600 block of SE 148th Avenue. During a search of the apartment officers found approximately 12 pounds of heroin, 4.5 pounds of cocaine, and $6500 in cash. The street value of the narcotics is estimated to be 1.1 million dollars.

Officers arrested 44-year-old Leticia Montes-Soto, 31-year-old Lorenzo Lopez-Lerma, and 36-year-old Joel Montes-Luna. All three were charged with Manufacture, Possession, and Distribution of Heroin and Cocaine. The total bail for each person is set at $150,000.

At 3:30 p.m. today, in the 14th floor conference room of the Justice Center, Captain Jim Ferraris of the Drugs and Vice Division, and the investigators, will discuss the impact of this seizure to the Portland Metropolitan area. The seized narcotics will also be available for inspection at that time.
