DETECTIVES SEEK THE PUBLIC’S HELP TO LOCATE RUNAWAY TEENAGE GIRL
Detectives from the Portland Police Bureau Missing Persons Unit are asking for the public’s help in locating 14-year-old Rakeshia Shamone Burns. Rakeshia is a medically endangered insulin-dependent diabetic who has been missing since this morning when she ran away from her secure foster care facility.
Rakeshia has a history of being reported as a runaway and is believed to have left without her insulin. Without insulin Rakeshia could be in danger of possibly life-threatening medical complications. Rakeshia may appear to be healthy, but doctors warn her health could deteriorate rapidly, to a point she might no longer be able to seek medical assistance on her own.
Rakeshia is a 5'4", 180 pound, black female with brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing a long navy zippered hoodie with a floral pattern on one pocket, jeans and red tennis shoes. Rakeshia appears older than her age.
Anyone with information about Rakeshia’s immediate whereabouts is asked to call 911. Anyone with additional information about Rakeshia is asked to contact Detective Mike Weinstein, Portland Police Bureau, Missing Persons Unit, (503) 823-0446.
