PORTLAND RESIDENT DIES IN FATAL ACCIDENT

January 10, 2002 00:00

On January 9, 2002, at 8:30 p.m., Portland Police responded to an accident at the intersection of SE 72nd Avenue and SE Flavel. The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Davin Dooley of Southeast Portland.

Investigators believe Dooley was Southbound on SE 72nd Avenue in a 1988 Volkswagon Jetta when he ran the red light at SE Flavel at a high rate of speed. Dooley collided with a 1993 Honda Civic operated by 19-year-old Davidovich Vladimir of Southeast Portland. After striking the Honda, Dooley’s vehicle hit a utility pole. Dooley was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene. No other person was injured in the accident.

No citations will be issued. This investigation is continuing.
