HONOR GUARD TRAVELS TO NATIONAL MEMORIAL SERVICE

On Saturday, May 11, 2002, at 6:30 a.m., The Portland Metropolitan Honor Guard, in a “Flight of Honor,” will depart PDX, for Washington, D.C., to participate in National Police Memorial Week. On May 15th, President George W. Bush is scheduled to attend the National Service, to honor police officers who died in the line of duty. The schedule of events include:

May 11, 2002: 6:30 a.m.: “Flight of Honor” departs PDX for Washington, D.C.

May 13, 2002: Candlelight Vigil in Judiciary Square, Washington, D.C.

May 14, 2002: Pipe and Drum Parade, Constitution Avenue, Washington, D.C.

May 14, 2002: Honor Guard meet congressional delegation in Washington, D.C.

May 15, 2002: National Service, Steps of US Capital, Washington, D.C.

May 16, 2002: 6:40 p.m.: "Flight of Honor" arrives at PDX.
