Seeking information in SE Portland homicide

The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers, is asking for your help in identifying the suspect in a homicide in Southeast Portland.

On Saturday, August 22, 2009, at about 3 a.m., Portland Police Officers responded to numerous calls of shots fired in the area of SE Flavel St. and SE 60th Ave. When officers arrived, they found one unoccupied parked vehicle with bullet holes in it.

Officers then began checking for victims, and found 52-year-old Joseph “Joey” Lawrence Erzen, suffering from a gunshot wound at his residence at 5706 SE Flavel St. Police Detectives said Erzen was in his bedroom at the time he was shot, and that the bullet entered his bedroom from outside the home. Erzen later died at the scene.
