PEDESTRIAN DIES IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

On April 18, 2002, at 10:16 p.m., East Precinct Uniform Officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Southeast 117th Avenue and Southeast Stark Street. Upon arrival officers found an individual, later identified as 58-year-old Grafton Moe, deceased at the scene.

The investigation revealed that Moe, who was walking Southbound on Southeast 117th Avenue , was struck by a vehicle that was Eastbound on Stark and driven by 48-year-old Arman Kluehy.

According to witnesses, Moe had stepped into the intersection, against the stoplight, when he was struck by Kluehy’s vehicle.

Investigators do not believe speed was a factor in the accident. No citations have been issued at this time.
