On January 10, 2002, a Multnomah County Grand Jury voted to indict 37-year-old Clayton Jasmin on twenty-one charges in connection with the shooting and standoff with Portland Police Officers on January 2, 2002. Jasmin has been indicted for:

6 counts of Attempted Aggravated Murder of a Police Officer with a Firearm 2 counts of Attempted Murder with a Firearm 4 counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm 1 count of Assault in the Second Degree with a Firearm 3 counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon 2 counts of Unlawful Manufacture of a Destructive Device 1 count of Criminal Mischief in the First Degree 1 count of Criminal Mischief with a Firearm 1 count of Resist Arrest

Jasmin is also a suspect in several other crimes including the placing of the explosive device at the intersection of Southeast 11th Avenue and Southeast Division Street on October 4, 2001 and several recent arsons in the Portland area. The US Attorney’s office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are reviewing this investigation to determine if Jasmin should face any Federal charges.
