SUSPICIOUS DEATH RULED HOMICIDE

On September 19, 2001, at 9:29 a.m., a Portland Parks Ranger discovered the body of a white male over the embankment of SE McGloughlin Boulevard in the 3400 block. Homicide Detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. Detectives spent the day processing the crime scene and contacting potential witnesses.

On September 20, 2001 the Medical Examiner determined that the cause of death was multiple stab wounds. This investigation has been classified as a homicide. This case marks the 14th homicide in Portland in 2001. There is no suspect information available at this time.

On September 21, 2001 the victim was identified as 21-year-old Nicholas Robert Moore. Moore had no permanent address. Portland Police urge anyone with information that would assist in this investigation to contact investigators listed above.

The investigation is continuing.
