MISSING MOTHER FOUND

On October 17, 2001, the Portland Police Bureau’s Family Services Division and Community Health Services took a child into protective custody.

The child was identified as 2-year-old Dina Jade Roy. The child’s mother was identified as 21-year-old Lisa Marie Kinsey. Both the child and her mother were from Las Vegas, Nevada. Lisa Kinsey was last seen in the Portland Metropolitan area during the first week of September 2001, when Kinsey left the child in the custody of an acquaintance.

Portland Police Bureau Detectives have now located and interviewed Kinsey. There is no longer any concern for her welfare. Kinsey has asked that her whereabouts not be disclosed. At this time investigators will complete the investigation and refer it to the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office for their review. Investigators have no plans to reunite Dina Roy with her mother until the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office has completed their review of the facts in this case.

Portland Police Bureau Detective Sergeant Marilyn Donner, lead investigator, has stated that information provided to Crime Stoppers was instrumental in this investigation.
