PROTESTORS ARRESTED IN PORTLAND

On July 8, 2002, Portland Police Officers arrested four protestors during a demonstration at an office building at 200 Southwest Market Street. The protest began shortly after noon when approximately sixty protestors entered the lobby of the building with some protestors continuing up to the 19th floor. More than a dozen police officers arrived and arrested four protestors after they refused to leave the building and interfered with the officers at the scene. Officers used pepper spray during the arrest. The four protestors arrested have been identified as:

1) 30-year-old Karl Johnson, of Seattle, charged with Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree.

2) 26-year-old Denell C. Fahy, of Seattle, charged with Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree, Resist Arrest, and Interfering with a Police Officer.

3) 25-year-old Michelle Mathers, of Seattle, charged with Interfering with a Police Officer.

4) 26-year-old Jennifer Barrett, of Seattle, charged with Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree and Interfering with a Police Officer.
