Child Abuse suspect arrested, police seek additional victims

July 09, 2002 00:00

On July 4, 2002, The FBI Fugitive Task Force arrested 39-year-old Jeffery Lynn Harmon on multiple warrants including three counts of Sex Abuse in the First Degree. The charges stem from an investigation by the Multnomah County Child Abuse Team of the Portland Police Bureau Family Services Division. Harmon, who has used the names Paul Tash, Paul De La Cruz, Scott Paul Bergeron, and Jeffery Louis Becker, reportedly gained access to children and homes working as a pest control agent and carrying fictitious identification.

Harmon was arrested on June 23, 2002 in Twisp, Washington for Child Fondling and two counts of Child Molest in the First Degree but escaped police custody after his arrest.

Child Abuse Team Lead Investigator, Tony Cobb believes Harmon may have abused other victims while in the Portland Metropolitan area. Detective Cobb would like to interview anyone who has had contact with Harmon. Detective Cobb can be reached at the Family Services Division (503) 823-0239.
