Police search for missing teenager/ runaway found

On Tuesday, July 9, 2002, the family of 13-year-old Sheree Saunders contacted the Portland Police Bureau to report Sheree missing. The teenager, who was last seen near Peninsula Park, is described as a white female, 5'5", 100 pounds, with shoulder length brown hair and hazel eyes. At that time she waswearing a white tank top, and khaki stretch. There is no evidence that Sheree ran away or has been abducted. Sheree Saunders does not have a history as a runaway.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Portland Police Bureau Family Services Division at (503) 823-0992.

Update: On Thursday, July 11, 2002, at 6:15 p.m., North Precinct Officer Rod Gustafson saw Saunders walking, with a sixteen year old male, near Pier Park in North Portland. Officer Gustafson, contacted Saunders who admitted she had been staying with her boyfriend and his family since running away from home on July 9, 2002. Saunders was returned to her family.
