Woman attacked while walking to work

On Thursday, August 1, 2002, at approximately 7:57 in the morning, a 20-year-old female, walking near the intersection of Northeast 82nd Avenue and Northeast Killingsworth Street, was grabbed from behind by a male subject. The suspect, who was armed with a knife, attempted to push the victim into nearby bushes and sexually assault her. The victim actively fought with the suspect and was able to break free and escape with only minor injuries. The suspect is described as an unshaven 30 to 35-year-old white male, 5'6" tall, approximately 160 pounds, wearing a white T-shirt and beige pants.

The victim, who does not speak English, was unable to understand what the suspect was saying. She was also unable to provide any additional information at the time.
