Arrest in September 2002 Homicide

January 31, 2003 00:00

On Friday, January 31, 2003, Portland Police Bureau Detectives charged 35-year-old Shawn Michael Coble in connection with the death of 26-year-old Forrest Richard Paul. Coble, who was already in custody in Multnomah County, was interviewed and charged with 10 counts of Aggravated Murder.

Paul's body was found September 5, 2002, at 4:10 p.m., when Portland Police Uniform Officers responded to a call of a "dead body" in a residence in the 4900 block of Southeast 76th Avenue. Upon arrival officers found the body of an individual, later identified as Paul, who lived in the upstairs portion of the residence. An autopsy conducted by the Medical Examiner's Office, determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound or wounds.

At the request of Detectives, no further information will be released at this time. The investigation is continuing and anyone with specific information about this investigation is asked to call Detective George Weatheroy at (503) 823-0886 or Detective John Brooks at (503) 823-0400.
