The Medical Examiner's Office has scheduled an autopsy for Monday to determine the cause of death.
Rogozhnikov was a cab driver for Broadway Cab. At approximately 5:00 a.m. this morning, Broadway Cab received an emergency alarm from Rogozhnikov's cab.
Rogozhnikov's cab is missing. The cab is a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria, yellow with black Broadway Cab lettering, identified as #477. The vehicle has Oregon License ZAZ-647. Anyone seeing or locating Broadway Cab #477, should call 9-1-1 immediately. If the vehicle is occupied, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CONTACT THE OCCUPANT(S). If the vehicle is parked, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ENTER OR TOUCH THE VEHICLE.
Anyone with information, regarding the death of Greigory V. Rogozhnikov, is asked to call Detective Rich Austria or Detective Steve Ober at the Portland Police Bureau's Detective Division (503) 823-0400. The investigation is continuing.
The missing Broadway Cab #477 has been found and investigators are in the process of towing and impounding the vehicle. The vehicle was located at 120th & East Burnside and the person who found it called in at approximately 1710 hrs (5:10 p.m.)
Anyone with information regarding the death of Greigory V. Rogozhnikov, or having seen Rogozhnikov's Broadway Cab #477, is asked to call Detective Rich Austria or Detective Steve Ober at the Portland Police Bureau's Detective Division (503) 823-0400. The investigation is continuing.
UPDATE Suspect Identified:
Homicide Detectives have issued a warrant charging 62-year-old Stephen Warren Barr with one count of Aggravated Murder in connection with the death of Greigory V. Rogozhnikov. Barr should be considered ARMED AND DANGEROUS. Barr was last seen driving a stolen burgundy color Suzuki Esteem bearing Oregon license number XMP155. Crime Stoppers has issued a reward of up to $1000.00 for information leading to the arrest of Barr. Anyone seeing Barr or the stolen vehicle should immediately call 9-1-1.
On Sunday, February 23, 2003, at about 11:00 p.m., Portland Police arrested 62-year-old Stephen Warren Barr inside of the Daily Double Inn at Northeast 162nd Avenue and Northeast Halsey Street. The arrested occurred after East Precinct Officers on routine patrol saw a stolen Suzuki Esteem associated with Barr parked at the tavern. Officers entered the tavern and arrested Barr without incident.
Barr was transported to the Portland Police Bureau's Detective Division and then booked into the Justice Center Jail on one count of Aggravated Murder in connection with the death of Broadway Cab driver Grigoriy Rogozhnikov. Arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday, February 25, 2003, at 2:00 p.m.
