May 21, 2003 00:00

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers, is asking for your help in solving the homicide of a Culver, Oregon woman who, along with her husband, had lived in southeast Portland.

On May 1, 2003, the body of 28-year-old Jacklin Anne Thompson was found approximately 25 miles southwest of Madras, Oregon. Jacklin Anne Thompson was reported missing on September 2, 2001, from her Culver home, by her husband, 46-year-old Steven Allen "Steve" Thompson.

Steve Thompson reported he had returned home late in the evening, on August 31, 2001, after a three-week stay at a job. At approximately 1:30 that morning, September 1st, Jacklin Anne Thompson reportedly left home to go for a walk. That was the last time she was seen alive, according to Steve Thompson.

The Thompsons, who had last lived in the Lents Park area of southeast Portland, moved to Culver in 2000.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony crime and you need not give your name. Call Crime Stoppers at (503) 823-HELP (4357).
