Police arrest cyclist in hit and run of 7-year-old boy

On Thursday morning, August 7, 2003, Portland Police arrested 40-year-old Erik Christopher Tucker in connection with the hit and run involving a bicycle and 7-year-old boy. The incident occurred on Monday, July 28, 2003, at approximately 1:30 in the afternoon near the fountains of the Rose Garden Arena, at NE Multnomah and NE Wheeler. The cyclist, reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed, struck and dragged the 7-year-old boy approximately 30 feet. After the incident, the cyclist reportedly left the area without providing any information.

Police arrested Tucker at a home located in the 5700 block of North Kirby. Tucker has been charged with Felony Hit and Run.
