22 year old dies in weekend shooting

On Sunday, October 12, 2003, at 8:45 p.m., the mother of 22-year-old Cameron Brandice Ware called police to report that her son had just been shot in front of the family home located in the 5800 block of Northeast 18th Avenue. Officers arrived and discovered Ware had been shot several times; he died later at Emanuel Hospital. Homicide Detectives were called to the scene and initiated an investigation.

On Monday, October 13, 2003, the Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined that Ware died of gunshot wounds.

Homicide Detectives continue to look for additional witnesses in this investigation. This is the 20th homicide investigation initiated by the Portland Police Bureau in 2003.

This investigation is continuing.
