This money, which is collected from more than 300 Bureau members through voluntary payroll deductions, is a longtime charitable giving campaign. The fund was established many years ago as a resource for officers and their families who were experiencing financial problems due to illness or other unforeseen expenses. As the years passed, the fund has evolved to address specific needs of the community. Members of PPSCC vote on how the funds will be distributed each year, and a small amount is still held to address the needs of Bureau members experiencing a financial emergency.
In the past 10 years, more than $325,000 has been distributed this way. The following organizations will be presented a check:
